Echoes of the Neighbourhood:

Linking Past and Present

The Thirty Houses Neighbourhood Heritage Project is a commissioned project. The heritage site is under H15 Project monitored by the Urban Renewal Authority ( URA ) in Hong Kong. The goal of the site is to preserve the Tong Lau buildings, while offering the common space - Community Living Room and the Tong Lau Experience Room to conduct educational and interactional experience to the visitors, to learn about the life and history of the neighbourhood, and the role of Tong Lau in the community.

It is a on-going project involved the production of a research-led audio guide with QR code to offer visitors a virtual tour around the site. Curation of an interactive guided tour with an artist video and community zine for the monthly pre-booked guided tour delivery by the Tong Lau Experience Room’s team.

Interactive Guided Tour

Visitors enjoyed an imaginative, interactive guided tour designed by Alison to uncover the living stories of the neighbourhood. To conclude the journey, guests were invited to stamp, draw, or write their own reflections and observations onto the back of the zine.
