<Cha Chaan Teng.Connection.Community>
Exhibition of Cha Chaan Teng Culture
Illustrator Alison Hui x HK Food Culture Researcher Samuel Lai
Hong Kong style milk tea and pineapple buns are the city’s iconic treats whose popularity can be found in places like Taiwan, Japan, and amongst Chinese communities all over the world. The Cha Chaan Teng atmosphere warms our hearts and makes connections with the community, thanks to the dedication of entrepreneurs, chefs, bartenders, and servers. We can trace bits and pieces of their creativity through an exploration of interior design, menu, food, beverages, and secret codes. Displayed items re-create the old-time vibes, giving the audience a glance of Cha Chaan Tengs’ unique stories, and inviting them to embark on a nostalgic journey of tastes and memories.
